Corus create industry benchmark publication

18 February 2008
Following a four-way pitch, Forepoint has been appointed to design and produce the new Corus Panels and Profiles’ Product Specification Manual. Forepoint presented a comprehensive proposal which included detailed design intent, structural and format development (offering significant costs savings), along with an extensive project and production plan that is currently being executed to meet a winter 2008 launch.
The key objective of the new manual is to establish itself as the Building Envelope industry benchmark, demonstrating the breadth of technical and product capability within the metal building envelope sector as well as raising brand awareness within a competitive and demanding marketplace.
As part of the development process, Forepoint successfully hosted consultation workshops in Manchester and London with key architects, the primary target audience for the publication.
This vital piece of research provided a thorough and comprehensive foundation for the document.
The manual will consist of more than 650 pages covering subjects from building design aesthetics and building regulations through to technical product specification and construction detailing. The new initiative by Corus Panels and Profiles will be an industry-leading technical reference ‘bible’. In addition, it will complement existing and current publications, as a stand-alone reference guide servicing the entire needs of its target audience.
Due to the scale and nature of the project, Forepoint have developed a unique coding and software system for data transfer and tracking. This has reduced administration time and allows Corus Panels and Profiles to focus on their respective roles.
David Philips Technical Manual Project Manager, commented “We are very pleased to be working with a design agency that is so full of energy and refreshing ideas. The Product Specification Manual is something Corus Panels and Profiles is proud to be associated with and it is definitely something the whole construction industry will welcome.”
