Somerfield plc
Printed Communications
Somerfield plc incorporates Somerfield and Kwik Save supermarkets. Together they operate over 1,300 stores nationwide. Their aim is to be the leading small-format food retailer in the uk.
Challenge
We were first commissioned to produce the Annual Report and Accounts for Somerfield in 1999. Clearly communicating growth of the high street retailer was a key objective as well as their on-going success through a UK store modernisation programme.
Solution
We created a fresh look and feel that reported Somerfield's growth and development in the small format food retailer sector in a clear and concise way. Use of photography illustrating award winning products demonstrated the important role they play in Somerfield's success. During our long-term relationship we developed a thorough understanding of the needs of the report to communicate with effectively shareholders, customers and staff. The added addition of online versions of the Somerfield reports broadened its accessibility and reduced the print run by 10, 000 copies, reducing the overall cost.
